Took B on a bus trip to New York (we were there once this summer) to the American Girl doll store, this was her “big” gift from her dad and I for Christmas, the trip and a doll. We explored 3 floors and made selections in only an hour…she chose Kit as her first American Girl doll, plus some outfits and a cute pair of glasses. For some reason, she’s been hooked on the idea of these glasses since she first saw them in the catalog months ago. Apparently, specs don’t have the same stigma as when I was 7 and had to start wearing ’em!
So then we had the whole day to explore, Times Sq and 5th Ave. Rode the huge Ferris Wheel inside Toys R Us, bought really pricey all-green M&M’s (her fave color, they had every M&M imaginable!), oohed and aahed over holiday windows, checked out the skating rink and tree at Rockafeller Center, where we later caught part of a concert, and did lots more.

My kiddo is a true city girl – no tears leaving NY this time, ’cause she knows we’ll be back again. She walks like a true new yorker in a crowd, doesn’t give hobos a 2nd glance, and was totally well-behaved. I told her we can plan to make a bus trip to the city a regular girl’s day adventure!

On the way home she passed out with a total deathgrip on Kit. It was a super day!

About braultfam

I'm a married, often-harried mom of a busy darling dancing diva in her early teen years. I wrangle a houseful of furry children while homeschooling the kid, reading (mainly digital books these days), and writing. And let's not forget, taking time to travel when possible, because we are definitely a family who loves making memories together from PA to FL...I other words, I'm just your average superwoman!
